I'm not trying to sound like an advertisement. I'm simply stating my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, Marvel puts out some good story lines (at times), but I have been very pleased with IDWs lineup of comics. Aside from the obvious (all the G.I. Joe Comics) they are also putting out some other excellent stories with Star Trek, Transformers, Doctor Who (classic and the new Doctors), and their telling of the Last Unicorn (classic story that you need to check out it you have never heard of it). Throw in their Classic line of trades and affordable omnibus and they really have a solid lineup from top to bottom.
Nothing against Marvel and DC, but I get burned out on all the superhero super events (House of M, Civil War, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign, Siege, Infinite Crisis, 52, Darkest Night, etc.). I much prefer the kind of stories and titles that IDW is cranking out.
I was just wondering about others thoughts on IDW...

Still supporting IDW here! :D
G.I. Joe with the Cobra Civil War story, Transformers with the Chaos storyline, Doctor Who has been excellent, upcoming TMNT (but going back to it's original serious tone-not the slap stick stuff of the 90s), and a new ongoing Star Trek series this fall picking up after the 2009 film. And these are just the titles I'm reading! I really think IDW is underrated! Make mine...IDW!

IDW has become a specialist in the licensed comic book. Look at the list of the comics they are selling and all of their top sellers are Toys or TV (Star Trek counts in this one).

I know they have a few original series but it is not what pays there bills. So they aren't working with original material. Whereas Marvel & DC are milking their original characters to the max. (Although, since they have been around for so long they don't seem original)

So they are cracking out great Joe stories no doubt, including ARAH when Hama gets his act together. I don't read anything but GI Joe.

And I do think CCW is a really great idea. even Infestation was pretty good, so IDW is also doing the same stunts the Big 2 are as well as starting over at #1.

One area they are ahead of the big boys is in digital comics, they have been selling them longer.

I recommend Locke and Key. Not for the kiddies (violence and adult themes), but it's quite good. They shot a pilot for a tv show, but it looks like it's cancelled before it even starts (typical fox). Here's a story i found just now while googling:

I have just got into Locke and Key myself. I have the first 2 hardbacks and have not picked up the third one yet, but I have read it at the bookstore. I read...

All Transformer stuff
All Star Trek
Most G.I.Joe minus RAH, movie stuff, and crap like Infestation and Future Noir.
True Blood
D+D main book and depending on setting the other stuff. (I skipped Dark Sun for example, but am getting the Drizzt books.)
Dr Who books based on current Doctor and series. I dropped the Classic book.
TMNT when it starts.
They put out some great stuff no doubt. I just wish Joe was a little bit better executed then it has been to date.
