a series i was reading was canceled so i was in the market for a new title. i was at a friends lcs and someone suggested i give the new Shield title a shot so i did. i bought the first 4 books and thought it was great but now it seems the book is running late and that just annoys the piss out of me. you would think in this digital age they could get books out on time. i rarely remember books being late when i was kid, but i could be wrong.
anywho, i plan on keeping the Shield title but am thinking about adding another title. im pretty much open to anything. i used to collect the X titles in the 90's so mutant type stuff is cool and of course military type stuff. i have knowledge of most things marvel and a few dc characters, the main ones mostly. but any good indy title would work to. i dont want to walk into anything thats in progress that i would have to buy 10 trades to get caught up on but i dont need a title that has just started either, if you understand?
eh anyway, suggestions?! thanks everyone.

Did you ever watch Batman Beyond? There was a 6 issue limited series, and now there is a new on-going. It is a very good mix of DCAU and DCU.
If you want Marvel, I can not recommend Invincible Iron Man enough. The current 25+ issue run has been amazing.
In regards to the SHIELD series, it has been solicited as an every other month book.

nope, sorry never saw that show. i was looking around at some of the green lantern books because they seemed interesting but im not sure yet. i have two friends who own two different lcs's and neither follows the lantern books so i have no reference to turn to on those. the one guy is a huge batman fan, i'll have to ask him about it.
i dont really know anything about the iron man stuff. even as a kid i never got into him even tho i was familiar with his back ground. i'll have to ask around and see what people at the shops think about it. the problem i have with the big two companies is those danged cross overs every year. i hate the heck out of them so when i do read anything by them i try stick with a book that isnt involved with or affected by whatever lame money grabbing scheme they have going on that summer. but i will definitly ask about the iron man if its that good.
oh so its every other month, wonder why the lcs didnt know that lol i jumped into the book late and bought all 4 issues at once off the rack so i assumed it was a monthly. its a very interesting book and im glad it was suggested to me so i intend to keep with it even if its only every other month.
any indie titles to keep an eye out for? i can have anything ordered for me even if the lcs's dont carry them.

I read the Green Lantern books. VERY VERY GOOD! BUT...right now might be a hard time to pick up the book.

I have been reading Chew from Image in tradepaperback. I bought first trade due to price. Liked it enough to sit down in bookstore with a coffee and read volume 2-3 even if I did not buy them or start buying the monthly. That's still under the 20 issue mark. Plus they do a recap page each issue keeping new reader friendly. If you like zombie tales? Walking Dead is the best book on the shelf with that subject. 80 issues have released BUT we are early into the Walking Dead Weekly rereleases for you to jump on now. I trade wait on that book.

thanks for suggestion but me and zombies dont mix. i still cant figure out why this is so popular in comics right now. its ok for a cheesy B movie but in comics...really? i just dont see how the plots can progress when its a mindless brain sucker your fighting. i know 2 people who own 2 different lcs's and they dont even stalk zombie titles bc they say they dont sell at all, yet its some kinda hot trend. i just dont get it but to each his own i guess. im just glad infestation isnt in the main titles now and is a seperate mini or i would have dropped the titles like they were on fire and never looked back. a friend of mine who is a HUGE Tf fan said the same thing about the tf titles. i still havnt narrowed it do to another title to pick. there are so many good options out there, i think maybe im just thinking to hard about it and should just pick up something and see how it goes for a few issues and if i dont like it just to another one and so on
