Saw this last night while researching various publishers.
Dynamite is publishing a series called "Brothers in Arms" based of the popular video game series. Check their site for more details.

Don't get your hopes up.
Dynamite is an awful publisher with a horrible track record for getting books out on time. They are much more concerned with crapping out 8 variant covers of every issue they do manage to finish.
They are owned and operated by Dynamic Forces which is a big red flag is you know anything about the comic merchandising business....

I wish we would get a modern military comic, but still, this looks interesting I may check it out, especially if the JOE continuity gets dumped for a reboot.

Yeah. I wouldn't get your hopes up. I picked up the Mercenaries 3 issue series and thought it was crap. They take so long to get stuff out it's easy to forget what is going on from month to month. I also skip all covers except for whatever one my comic shop pulls for me. If you are a fan of the game series and do not have high expectations then you MIGHT enjoy this book.

Well, I picked up the second issue today. The first issue was very well done and I look forward to reading the second one tonight.

Glad to hear it, Phil. I may have to check it out. I was skeptical about the title at first and then just forgot about it.

Somehow my local comics shop forgot to pull #1 of this series for me, and so I held back on reading the subsequent issues until I got my hands on #1. Well, yesterday I finally managed to get a copy, and read it last night. I was very impressed, as I wasn't expecting a book as good as it turned out to be. The story was good, the art was good (although not inked), and I am very much looking forward to reading the remaining issues (waiting for me at home; I'm on the road right now).
Personally, I could care less if a comic ships late, so long as it's good and it ships eventually. I'd much rather wait 3 months for a complete issue (one that has been drawn well, inked and has been proof-read) than have a crappy, low-quality control book come out on time.
Brothers in Arms #1 had a couple quality issues. For instance, the line that reads "don't talk to he customer's" should have clearly read "...customers" instead, and as I said the art wasn't inked. But at least the pencils were mostly very detailed and clean, and most drawings looked right, even if a couple of the main characters' necks in the flashbacks looked a little off.
I enjoyed it a lot, and believe issue 4 has already come out, so I'll be writing in my thoughts on the whole series soon.

Okay, I've now read all the issues. Overall, I liked it a lot. There were several grammatical mistakes in there ("it's" when it should have been "its" and the like), but otherwise good. The art was very good and accurate as to uniforms (despite the lack of inks), and the stories were interesting, if a little short. There were a lot of flashbacks that seemed like short stories of their own for each main character (put together for this series), but I was left feeling like there was no encompassing, overall story for the group. Nonetheless, very interesting, and entertaining. Nothing too deep, but the authors made a point of not glorifying war, always showing a consequence to an action (like the dead Germans' families, for example).
It's well worth getting, IMHO.

Hmmm. I must have missed this, maybe I'll check it out if I can get the entire series.
