Is Spark's real name Alex? Alex what? Any story behind chosing his name?

All of Sparks' information is in his Data Desk profile, which is in SPECIAL MISSIONS: MANHATTAN. No major story behind his particular name, other than I was thinking quite a bit about a great friend of mine, and her Italian heritage. I wanted to sculpt something as an homage to her, basically.


Is the reason why Scarlett was chosen to be sent to Ireland partly due to her Irish heritage?

Not really. It was because of mine! I wanted to explore my own roots. Just happens that she and I have similar backgrounds.


Why do you think the American comic book scene is so dominated by superheroes? (as opposed to the European or Japanese scenes)

It's just what Americans prefer, it seems. In my mind, it's because other themes are so heavily dealt with in other entertainment mediums that comics tends away from them. Also, comics still seems to be the cheapest, most efficient way to tell stories about superhumans.

Which GI JOE And Cobra character would you personally want to write a Declassified one shot on?

Scarlett was the top of my list, actually. There are more that would be fun, but nothing that feels urgent or pressing to me as a writer. I think other people should tell some of those stories. However, it changes daily... I may get an idea later today that prompts me to want to write about someone else... one never knows!


Why was Shooter's being a Joe kept secret from the other Joes in GI JOE Declassified?


They didn't have a need to know!

Some things need to be kept ultra hush hush in operations like G.I. Joe. Shooter is one of those things.


Any plans to revive GI JOE RELOADED? It still had a lot of loose ends to deal with (i.e. what became of Maj. Bludd. Doc, Lady J?: will we ever learn who hacked Scarlett's file in GI JOE Reborn?; Will the Joes ever recover the Black Dragon Six UCAV?, etc.)


Unfortunately, no plans for this.
