So I have been playing this online stock market type game for years now called the Hollywood Stock Exchange (HSX). Where you can buy the stock of movies & actors and then based off the box office when released is how the stock price is figured out. But pre-release is basically all speculation. So take a look at the link. GI Joe 2 is now at its alltime high, If you look at the chart you see the huge dip when the delay was announced but in the month since it has more then recovered. So I know this is game but it is also an indication of how popular the movie was before & still to certain degree is. Its a fun game. Especially if your a movie fan. http://www.hsx.com/security/view/GIJO2

I wonder if this will have an effect on the PREQUEL comics... if they will still stand, or if they will now contradict the movie. Also, I guess now we know why a movie adaptation comic was never solicited

As The Doctor, he looked like he escaped from a Japanese Sentai series or was DXed & 86ed from one. And his later outfit was plain awful. If you're referring to the 9 month delay, blame it on HASBRO or MGM /Skyfall- they opted to beat a hasty retreat when they learned Retaliation would potentially go head to head with The Amazing Spider Man. (Not that the 9 month delay would do them any good if they run straight in Marvel's 2013 releases, or DC's or Star Trek XII. ROC isn't and never was a good film to wait on Cable or DVD/Blu Ray.) Besides, they wanna boost Duke. They just can't leave that lame 1980s cartoon out of the development of the film. Its not as if GI Joe owes its existence to Duke. Besides, a Joe Colton/CC fight would be cooler, even a CC vs. Jinx or Snake Eyes. But CC vs. Duke. Forget it! I'm not gonna waste money on a farce.

I'm over the movie. I wasn't a big fan of the first one, but it is G.I. Joe so I'll go see it next March.

I really do wonder how GI JOE would've done, now that ASM has slung into theaters.
TED - which Paramout shunted into RETALIATION's open spot - has done remarkably well. It's currently at $120mil, well outpacing Channing Tatum's MAGIC MIKE and looking rather competitive next to Spider-Man.
I don't know if JOE woulda had the kind of "social exposure" that those movies have had (my gf said last weekend every other post on her Facebook was about either TED or MIKE), but a lateral swap of TED and RETALITION would put it well over $100mil by now, which are better domestic numbers than ROC had at this point in its theatrical run.

"Retaliation" would probably already have been forgotten by the general populace by now, if it had been released on its original date. (sigh)

I think Retaliation would have been a fairly big hit had they released it as planned. Remember, The Amazing Spider Man was meant as a Re Make. Had Retaliation been released as intended, it may have made a good dent in the box office. Of course, now with the delay, they risk competing with a salvo of Marvel and DC films. Not to mention Star Trek XII. (Good Luck, Joes! You're lucky Colton is in the cast.)

After the initial rush to see it, then the reviews and comments about how bad it was would come pouring in, steering most away.

I hope that the movie has a decent, character oriented script that mines what was established in the comics. It would be a shame if its an all action film.

I am so ready for this movie! I cannot believe they delayed it like they did!
I hope Roadblock will just be a martial arts trainee rather than a ninja! Who is still excited??
