Disappointed. Oh, well...
If IDW ever increases prices to $4.50 or $4.99 I am done with everything I read by them anyway. I can't spend that much on a 15 minute read. I am good for now on that and that is another discussion anyway.
I still see a couple of things that will happen after this...

1) Sales may/will increase for the new Marvel/Hamaverse Joe book. Will it triple the current numbers of the reboot books? I doubt it. Not unless you pull out the old 10 varient covers for the first issue gimmick. (Note that the  is a comment on the varient cover market ploy only.) Numbers will start to decline over time. Also note that if a shop can't move the title it won't order the book. It does not matter who the creator on the book is. My shop only orders books like Star Wars and G.I.Joe for me. Nobody else wants them. He also could not move Project Superpowers stuff and that had Alan Moore onboard.
2) The reboot titles will continue to decline in sales to the point of cancelation. I don't care how dedicated you say you are to a book. If it costs you money in the long run to publish who in their right mind would keep publishing it? I just know the movieverse Joe books are not going anywhere and they are the worst sellers of all the IDW Joe books. I think it must be in the contract that IDW keeps producing them. (I am of course speculating here. I do NOT know this as fact.) Lets see how long the reboot books keep going when this new series gets going. Nobody will have a reason to pick it up.
That's just my take on things and I am willing to bet these things will happen. 8)

This is the question that every Joe comic fan has to be wondering about. Cause if the #156 series goes through the roof, it may spawn more spin off series from that one.

Remember all of the movie universe books have been a 4 issue mini series, IDW can produce those as much as they want to they can't cost nearly as much as the main books. Hama & Dixon's fee have to easily be double whoever is writing the movie books.

Also along this line of thinking Cobra II is a mini series and Origins was originally intended to be a mini but was extended. So IDW could easily switch over to all books being back in Hamaverse 2.0. And I doubt Ham will want to continue to write Origins anymore anyway.

Remember for most of the history of GI Joe comics, with exception of 1991-1995 & 2008, there have pretty much been two comics coming out a month. So that is unlikely to change.

Another thing I hope is that IDW speeds up it release of Marvel Classic reprints.

I'm thinking 3) Both books sell well enough that they all keep getting published and making money.
If sales decline on the reboot books, I don't think we'll see anything worse than the number of concurrent books (miniseries) being reduced--they may release stuff less often, i.e. spread them out instead of putting two out a month. But I believe there is a good chance that both continuities will continue to go strong.

Don't you guys think that the reboot has already been given the axe? Shouldn't we have had the solicitation for issue #17 by now? IDW's silence just signals to me that they are moving away from the reboot and just don't want to say anything to ruin the sales of the product already in production.
