I am fairly certain the reason this last arc is called Mas Destruction is because Snakes and Helix don't leave a working mass device (or a living scientist capable of repairing or rebuilding it) in their wake.... i can only hope bc im getting tired of treading water in this septic tank of an arc.

Well of course they will take the scientists with them. Doesn't mean the scientists will make it. Hasbro wouldn't let them just bust caps on unarmed scientists, they have to buy it trying to escape. Its the only way to put the genie back in the bottle.

I haven't been following the Cobra comic, since it seemed to be mostly about Chuckles and I've never been a big Chuckles fan. It looks as though things are getting interesting enough for me to take a look. I'm kind of confused about all the titles IDW is putting out for Joe. There's the main line and the classic continuation, which I've been getting. But now this Civil War... and apparently there's a "Snake-Eyes" edition, too? Can someone help me sort all this out so I don't spend waaay too much money on comics I don't need/want? Is there a compilation of Cobra stories after the initial set that's out/coming out so I can grab that instead of hunting down individual books? And do I need to to enjoy the Civil War story? I am liking the cover Bludd's on. Dunno whose idea it was to give him a walking stick, but in a weird way it almost works in that cover. Nice artwork, regardless. The extra-thugly edition of the Major.

Ok...here is the breakdown...
All the IDW reboot series have ended.
In April there will be a #0
Then in May there will be:
GI Joe #1 Cobra #1 Snake-Eyes #1
All three titles will follow the Civil War storyline, but they will be independent of each other...so, if you want to read all the titles to get the full picture you can, or you can just read one title and still follow what is going on.
The Civil War storyline itself will only last less then a year and then a new Cobra Commander will be named.
Hope that helps.

Wow, I really am out of touch. I'm overdue for a trip to the comic shop - last time I was there was ... December? Oy. Thanks for the info, Phil.

Since G.I.Joe #1 does not lead into SE #1, which leads into Cobra #1 and then back to Joe #2 and so on? I would say individual trades with a Cobra Civil War banner. That's my guess.

IDW says that all of the stories can be rad individually but obviously that is only half the story. There will be lots of cross over story points. Helix is in The Pit at the end of #1 and then when Snake Eyes coms out we will see her fighting with Snake Eyes in I think Tibet. And I really like this idea. With 3 books a month coming out, IDW could really crank out the trades. One trades for every two months of stories. That would be 6 issues with all of the covers, a body counter, winners totals and maybe an interview and that be a full Trade. And we would get the story sooner in trade format.

I would rather them wait for each of the books to hit the 6 issue mark and release the trades for each series seperate from one another. As it is right now for me? I am only buying Cobra, Classic stuff, and Disavowd trades. The reason? I just don't want to pump my money into trades if it's not worth a second read and I don't want the titles mixing if I dont want the series 2 or SE trades. Cobra is worth the trade purchase to me. Classics and Disavowed as well. Unless I find Origins vol 3-4 and the main series vol 3-4 for dirt cheap? I won't ever buy them. So no. Bottom line? Don't mix the series when releasing them as trades. Dark Horse pissed me off when they did that for the Star Wars Vector crossover.

I totally agree with Antarctica on this. My only problem would be that the art wouldn't mesh well. That would be kinda annoying.

I'll pick up the trades for this as I got very confused as to what was going on in which Joe comic, which universe, etc. I'd like to see who the new CC is but secretly I hope it will be The Black Major
