Quote: G.I. JOE: COBRA #13 Mike Costa, Christos N. Gage (w) Antonio Fuso (a & c) After the shocking events of last issue, all bets are off for the last chapter of Chuckles' undercover saga. He'll have to face enemies, friends... and, finally, himself. Costa, Gage, and Fuso finally bring one of the most shocking GI Joe stories of all time to a close, and not everyone is getting out alive.

Hi, im new here, and have a few questions. I recently got back into GI Joe, finding and collecting all the IDW back issues and have recently read them all. I was nervous about the new continuity, but have found that the new direction with GI Joe is amazing. While I like the main series, and origins is pretty good, the best of all the series is COBRA, but recently I have heard this series is ending. Is this true? Are all the GI Joe series ending? I really hope not, I was just getting into it and would really miss all the titles, especially cobra. (The Hama series is great too by the way, classic. is this ending? please say no) If anybody is able to answer my questions, it would be greatly appreciated!

First, welcome to the boards. Don't worry, IDW Joe comics are here for a while. The only one that's ending, I believe, is Origins. The others are continuing, either going on with their current numbering (RAH), or getting a renumbering from #1 (the main series, which will have its "season 2" start with a new #1). Not sure if Cobra is getting a re-set, but it should be here for a while as well. And there's a new Snake Eyes series starting as well, filling the void left by Origins. So lots to come. Sometimes too much, IMHO, but it's a nice problem to have, I suppose.

......so as #13 is the last ish, and the 2nd COBRA trade collects #1-5 of this run, does this mean we get an oversized 3rd trade, or 2 smaller Vols. 3 and 4?

There's also the Cobra Special 2 to be included, so that would make it nine issues. So I'm guessing there will be two volumes, but who knows. Here is the RI cover, btw: http://www.grahamcrackers.com/products/ ... ariant.htmScheduled Feb 16, can't wait for the preview!!!

I am betting on Volume 3- Issues #5-9 The Scoop arc Volume 4- Issues #10-13 Chuckle's return We already have the 2nd Special in volume #2 with issues #1-4. I don't think IDW would have any reason to do a "thick" trade.

I said this over on the IDW board, but I will repeat it here.
GI Joe: Cobra has been the best GI Joe title IDW has published so far. I love that the same creative team has been on since issue #0. I am very interested to see where the series goes during "Season 2".
Kudos all the way around and I thought #13 was a very apt ending to the current run.

I'm with Phil, I loved this series! I've enjoyed it much more than the other series, including (especially) the main series. The Mad Monk storyline in Origins was good too, probably since it had a definite 'Cobra' feel to it.

So obvious they could easily find a way to bring Chuckles & Xamot back alive if they wanted.
But in all likely hood they should both be dead. Anyone agree?
And from looking at it it seems as if the Baroness does NOT, Not get on the plane with Tomax. Is is not possible they killed the Baroness.
But it is very possible Chuckles & Xomat are dead. (Heck, they killed Scoop after making him super cool)

Baroness has her own cover coming up. She probably got on the plane "off panel". I doubt they would kill her and not make it obvious.

Nothing says "finale" like a nuclear bomb.
Chuckles and Xamot should stay dead. I wouldn't have chosen to have them die, but with this series, it wouldn't feel right if they tricked us with some amazing off-panel escape for them. And yeah, the Baroness was talking like she was about to board the plane with them, so we can assume that explosion wasn't immediate.
But it's interesting that IDW has continued the tradition started by DDP. Make Chuckles a more interesting character, then kill him. Granted this was a more fitting death than his barely noticeable one given us by DDP in what is one moment I hate from that series. Meanwhile, Hama -- who always used Chuckles well -- brought him back already in the new ARAH.
I think I've said this before, but I think this writer should've been writing the main series all along, instead of making "Cobra" some separate series. The main series isn't bad, but this one has been great enough to catch the notice of online reviewers, etc. I'm wondering if all these new relaunches will kind of shift things more in that direction.
