Well, I'm assuming she's forgiven him, since she now knows that Snake- Eyes didn't kill her brother...

Interesting choice, an all white background like that. Wonder what the variant looks like....

Cool issue.
Cobra Commander was particularly solid, but the extended fight was fascinating, and Hama seems to be really reveling in the technology angle by supporting it with enough plausible real-life computer/gaming/microtechnology information overload that it reads good. The Blue Ninja Leader is a freaky cyber-spider of a man ... while they feel quite a bit more "comic book villains" than G.I. Joe is usually known for, they at least fall more into what you'd see in a Batman or Captain America subterfuge storyline than any more extreme examples. Kind of that "real world plus" thing.
I mean what IS that guy? And how is he going to rationalize the fact that Snake and Stormy basically used their "powers of serendipity" to stumble onto his ultra-brutal operation?
The requisite "stop back in and visit the rest of the Joes" moment (and correlating Destro stuff) felt balanced and secure enough to keep us reminded that there's some very real para-military operations at the heart of this jaunt into Gaiden territory.
Oh, and Shannon's art is just so perfect. He really captured some of the classic feel here, while retaining the clean lines we're used to. There's a couple particular shots - Destro standing in front of his battlements while IGs salute ... Snake Eyes moment with his Micro-Uzi ... and a couple really nice shots of Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander, really evoke their iconic feels.

Good issue. Very much liked this focus on the Blue Ninja story. Hama's scripts seem very much on fire lately, and Gallant's as great as ever.
Nice variant cover too - Hama/Wagner old school goodness.

At first, I was kind of like serious robots ninjas. But the Cobra BATs have always been pretty cool and the whole mix of human & robot and as they progress up (or is it really down) the ninja clan they become more robot than man.
A very interesting idea and the kind of ideas that Hama when rockin and rollin comes up with. And so far every time the Arashikage have fought it has taken a team attack to win. Which is also another aspect of the ninja fighting we dont really see.
I am very much enjoying ARAH. Hama gives us tank battles, ninja fights, sea battles, arctic battles. Give us another air duel we can get enough of those.
And I agree the artwork is just perfect for hte book.

Don't fret, Seanely - we know from issues as recent as the freaking amazing tank battle, the Jersey Shore battle and the dogfight with Ace and Wild Weasel over the Pit that Hama still has what we want. Not to mention the ultra-ultra-ultra best arc so far, which was the Joe Team that captured Darklon.
I'm totally cool in the meantime, with a dose of ... oh ... Metal Gear Solid future-weapon-craziness in my Joe comics. In fact, the older I get ... the more I kind of find myself loving it. (To say nothing of the fact that ... the older we get, the more close to reality some of these hi-tech concepts are).
I do wish Cobra would get more serious, more deadly and more successful. They opened quite strongly by being linked to the paranoia about extra-military contractors and the military-industrial complex, and I certainly want more of that (hoping Darklon arc will lead to it). They need a mission statement, even while they need to sort of be "every terrorism conspiracy theory" all rolled into one evil organization.

I wasn't crazy about this issue. Thing is, we had a great action issue with the tanks recently, it was hard not to compare and this one wasn't as good.
The best moment was the silent one when Destro looked in the Baroness's closet and saw the the missing guns in the rack.
