No mention of Hot Potato or other missing materials. I really hope they can work them into something. Maybe with Order of Battle?

Cool!

Ya, it seems like they should make a large TPB with Hot Potato, the SM from issue 50, the dossiers from the latter part of the run, Order of Battle.

I can see that it's hard to publish that stuff on its own though and that they would prefer to annex it to something with a higher value.

But then they should have added Hot Potato and the #50 backstory to the SM TPB.

If they add all of that in including Order of Battle, then does that complete all of the US Marvel stories?? (European Mission, Action Force & 3-D don't count).

Of course, I am sure they are leaving out the 4 issue Transformers crossover series. But I think we can all agree we don't need that in trade.

Although the European Missions are part of the main ARAH continuity.

The TPB orphans of the US Marvel run are:

1) Hot Potato (issue 1)

2) Map of The Pit (issue 4)

3) Map of Cobra Island (issue 74)

4) 25 dossiers (issues 108 to 132)

5) GI Joe Special #1 (McFarlane art)

6) Order of Battle (1-4)

7) Yearbooks (1-4)

8 ) European Missions (1-15)

9 ) Joe and the TF (1-4)

10) TPB covers for Special Missions, Joe&TF, Order of Battle

11) Letters' columns :!:

Love that map of the Pit! (Why haven't we ever gotten something like that for Pit III ??)

"Best Defense" from #50 (aka Special Missions #0) is included in IDW's Special Missions Volume 1 trade and it was also included in Marvel's Volume 5 trade, so it has already been collected twice and can be taken off the list.

And I would add to the list the Cobra Civil War map of Cobra Island that should be referenced during #74-76.

Fixed and fixed! Thanks man.

Hadn't realized that Best Defense was in SM #1...

And here's the second map:

G.I. Joe & the Transformers #1-4 have been collected into a trade. I own it. Special Missions #1-4 and the issue from #50 were also included into a trade. I own that as well. Last, but not least, Order of Battle was collected into a trade, and though it didn't include the character "Rocky", it did contain some characters that weren't included in the original 4 issue series, which makes this a valuable addition for any collector to have. (I also own that one.)

Yes, but the first fifty issues + the three trades you mention were published by Marvel.

The list is about what IDW has not collected yet.

And that's why I included the covers for thos three TPB as my #10 (as something IDW has not yet collected in a trade)

Some of the "story books" were also published by Marvel. I was able to trace three from Marvel. Apart from Trojan Gambit, I *think* the others are just stories with images (not comics per say):

The Trojan Gambit is basically a larger trade that contains three reprint stories.

The others do contain original stories that are basically page for page so it doens't have the multiple panels but is artwork like a comic and pretty much reads like them.

I see, thanks.

So at least the cover to the Trojan Gambit is a alternate comic cover that could be included in the "US Marvel GI Joe Comics" series.

The other two are more like illustrated stories, if I understand correctly, so you could exclude them on those grounds.
