Ok, I am curious. What brings you back to this forum?

I know there are tons of other GI Joe forums out there, and most of them have a dedicated comic section. So, what is it about this site that brings you back day after day?

Also...is there anything I could do to make it better?

I've seen a few of the other forums, and to me they seem boring...or I don't know any of the members so I don't bother with them.

If it wasn't for all the old DDP forum members coming here, I'd probably just read about the new G.I. Joe news from a comic site like Newsarama.

The group here is small, but it is a good small group...which I'd rather have instead of a larger group with several *BEEP*'s in it. 8)

As for improving the place. Maybe getting something exclusive (interview, images, video, etc.) would help. I think that you've already lined up an interview in the future right?

For me, it's the warm milk and chocolate chip cookies :D

Seriously, like the man says, I like the fact that it's both a nice and small group.

I also like the fact that it's a little more mature in tone.

I also like the fact that it's a COMIC forum (I'm a comic reader first, Joe fan second) This is very important and I appreciate how comic discussion is given a priority everywhere, even in the Hasbro Q&A.

And you're doing a great job just generally.

More interviews like before would be great, though I understand until January, we should brace ourselves, nothing you can do about it Phil. It was a great idea to have an interview with the GIJoe CC about their comic.

Interview suggestions: Chuck Dixon, John Nieber (hey, the guy wrote some decent stories, and I'd be curious to find out what could have been in the Reloaded storyline...) Sienna Miller?

Another suggestion: I wonder if the sections aren't getting out of hand: can't IDW be on top? It's sort of burried in there, maybe you could rearrange publishers in reverse chronological order? (I know there's the top banner for now but still)

But really, nothing important that I would change.

When this forum started it was one of the only comic book ONLY sites. No focus on the toys or cartoons, just the comics.

There have been a solid group posters since the beginning that are very Joe knowledgable. Although we are very opinonated about what is happening to the Joes in the comic, very rarely does it become personal.

And then there is Phil, who for years has faithful montiored the site, updating where needed and keeping it clean.

In fact, he has done such a good job that when the Devil's Due site shutdown, a whole new wave of Joe COMIC fans came over to this site.

Cause all we pretty much talk about here is the comic.
Well the movie has become a big topic.

Anyway, we all a BIG THANKS to PHIL for running such a cool site.

But what all of us veterans really want to know is what is the title above Commander in chief and when does that promotion happen.

Yeah. I would love to know when that mystery rank kicks in. scryptic will hit it before I will now as his post count is higher and he passed me. ( Limited library time for me to post.) How many CIC's do we have now anyway? I know scryptic, Hebime, Antarctica, and myself are, but that's all I can think of right now.

Yeah, I have been meaning to get back into the swing of interviews. I know I need to get Robert to answer some questions, and I put the bug in Chuck Dixon's ear when I saw him at WWC about another interview.

That is a good suggestion. I will play around with the idea.

Phil

Well everybody already said what I could say but I'm gonna post anyway.

The size and scope of this forum make it the only place I would even consider being a part of.

The small number of members and lack of any focus on action figures or cartoon nonsense makes it perfect.
Sure those things come up, but this is not the go to board for either.

After the IDW announcement when membership increased, I held my breathe to see if all the new recruits would fit in, and finally when I turned blue and had to gasp for air, I realized that my worries were unfounded.

Just keep doing what you always have Phil.

I think this is a great 'grown up Joe' site.....honestly.

I love the pics and 'inside scoop' that can be found here.

While I am one of those 'rare' multi-Joe fans (comic, toon, toyline, dio-ist and beyond), I like that this forum presents the refreshing 'comic only' aspect....makes for a great repose from the 'nah-nah-nah' of the other forums....

I'd love to be able to 'Subscribe Forum' to individual sections....that way I'll know when something new is posted.....because sometimes it takes a few days to get my email notification (even though I do have it checked as 'instant')

I think you do a fantastic job here Phil (and all the rest)......keep up the great work!!!

Hey General Scarlett, check out the 'View Posts Since Last Visit' link on the right side above the forum listings. It took me an embarrassingly long time to notice it but now it's usually my 1st click of the day.

of course you have top be logged in for this to work, but I am 'Always Logged In' here.

Well I am back after another long an lengthy absence. This time for good. Finally got caught up and finished WWIII.

Before my long absences from here I always came back one for the true to life focus on the comics and the friendly nature of the ones from the first 150 people who signed up.

Glad to be back and able to up my post count so I can catch up to the old guys lol

Ah great! Thanks, much better. Another advantage is that the IDW section is now next to the General GI Joe discussion section, which makes it very convenient, those being the two sections that should be the most popular.

Thanks, I do do that....and I have myself set for 'remember me' so that all I have to do is click the link from my email notice......that's how I find so many different threads to pepper with my train of thought (or lack thereof-HA!)

Oh and Phil.......VERY NICE!! Thanks for the 'Fung Shwei' :D

This site has surpassed ESPN.com in my world (and that is quite a feat! ...just ask my wife!:D)
Seriously, Phil, I love this site! Everyone is knowledgable about the G.I. Joe Universe and brings different perspectives to the table. I mean, I cannot begin to tell you how much I have learned in the last month that I have been a member here!
Another aspect of the site that I enjoy is even though the comic is the focus (as it should be in my opinion), there are still branches off the tree where I can discuss the upcoming movie, the love it or hate it cartoon (I'm in the love it category...cheesy as it can be at times  ), and the figures.
And everyone here is friendly even if they agree to disagree on certain items.
Well done, Phil!

I can't think of a single way to improve the site at the current time...but I won't hesitate to pass along any ideas that come to me in the future.

YO JOE!
