Alright, I know there's a thread in the movie section on Helix, but it seems the story is now part of the main universe. Anyway, I noticed several variants on the web for the lettering of the title and was wondering whether they were all released. I have this one: And the cover's inside page shows this one also: The solicits on Comics Continuum shows this one: The yojoe database shows these two (incidently, the links are reversed, Ant): Anybody care to investigate? My feeling is that the top two are the ones actually released, because the lettering matches the Cobra Special: The solicits images from comics continuum are probably early drafts, but I'm intrigued about where the YOJOE versions came from...

The Yojoe covers are my scanned versions. So those are the covers actually released. Any other variation to my knowledge was just a difference in the cover released with the soliciation abnd the final version.
This kiind of changes happen often especially with titling since the cover art is done so far in advance of the final version.

Ant, read my email carefully!!! I checked my copy yesterday and the inside cover for the alternate and they DO NOT correspond to the yojoe covers.
So I guess there are variations out there... I wonder if the comics Continuum version also exists...

I have bought 3 comics from IDW besides the classic traders
THIS was ONE of the 3, the others being the beach head and Snow job ones. I bought them because they could easily fit in with the Marvel/DDP continuity IMVHO without contradicting anything from those series.
This like the other 2 I enjoyed immensly , great art, color, story , paper quality everything I would expect from IDW.
But again the only reason I bought this one was because it didnt contradict anything from the Marvel/DDP
anytime IDW does something like this, I will buy it !

Here are a couple more that don't contradict Marvel/DDP:
Origins 8-9-10 is a Hama three part story that could read like an old Special Missions tale.
155.5 doesn't contradict DDP (though maybe 156 will)
The GI Joe: Movie Snake-Eyes story is a stand-alone solo mission, could be any continuity.
The G.I. Joe: Movie Prequel 4 (Snake-Eyes) is a similar solo story
If you squint a little more, Hearts and Minds and the Cobra Special could fit the old continuity, as they give never seen before backgrounds to the Crimson Twins, Major Bludd and Spirit. The personalities may seem a little off, but I don't think it's worse than when we read characters written by different writers. Thre are references to certain events in the other books, but I think they are vague enough to be understood as untold tales that wouldn't necessarily contradict the old verse.

Actually, let me revise one judgement: in the solo Snake-Eyes 4-part series, SE is shown in some flashbacks at the Arashikage compound as a kid, which is in line with the movie continuity.

Cool, I hope you enjoy them and that I didn't forget a minor reference to a story point that contradicts Marvel/DDP.
