phil, a few months ago weren't there a few pages of this issue? i've looked all over for them with no luck. it seemed that he was fighting cobras which lends me to believe this will iake place around the infamous rangoon mission that lead to snake's awol. is there any way you could help a laddie out on finding those old breakdowns?
thanks, matt

Isn't that the same cover that was used on a comic pack reprint of #21? It looks familar.

EDIT: Just checked Yojoe.com and it is the same cover. What a jip. I don't get to choose my covers at my store as I am the only one he gets them in for. This will probably end up being the cover he gets in. :( I want a new cover. Not recycled crap.

I just assumed it was a place holder image. Also is there a second cover? The solicit doesn't mention a second one.

I would be HIGHLY surprised if they did not release a second cover. ALL IDW books have had them since I started reading IDW books. Why they would not do a new one is beyond me. Even if they wanted to use a new version of this image to me it says "Silent Interlude". Not SE origin.

Hey guys,

No cover from me on this one. I tried, but I got behind after my daughter was born. It pains me deeply to have missed one. I'll be back with the next issue. I'm sorry if I've let anyone down.

Dad and Husband duties trump all, Tom. I totally understand. No worries. Keep up the good work!

Just going through my Preview and making my order. They are saying a Larry Hama signed replica edition of Marvel #21 will be available with this issue. The "ask your retailer how to get" means it's an incentive. They also show the cover ny Joe Benitez and it is much better looking then the recycled cover shown here. It shows SE jumping towards the reader with sword in hand and a bloody background. I hope that will be the cover I get, but I doubt it.

So is this the "C" Cover by Woods? A Larry Hama signed replica edition of Marvel 21? How awesome is that!? I know I've asked before, but I'll ask again...has anyone seen a picture of it anywhere?

It's the same cover as the comic pack reprint I think. Plus incentive covers are usually just a version of the A or B cover sans logo. I bet it's the cover shown here and from the comic pack version. That was the one shown origionally and did he not do a set of covers for those? If it's a new cover that would be better, but it is cool that it is a reprint for the incintive and not just the issue with yet another cover.

Isn't the 25 to 1 ratio for the C Woods cover the same ratio as the B Cover for America's Elite Issue 36?
And Hellstrom, you are correct. I checked YoJoe.com yesterday and the cover for the Silent Issue comic pack was done by Woods. So it will be the same cover (the one they have been showing). So I guess I need to change my question to has anyone seen Cover B?

It's extremely rare for IDW to release all covers before the preview is out (typically one day before the issue is out).

Welcome to my world of frustration for the past year (I need to order my comics ahead of time but never know which cover to specify, because IDW doesn't post them all in the solicits).

I will be receiving all three covers (only because it is a special issue, I usually don't do that), but was just wondering what Cover B looked like. Why does IDW wait to release all the issues? I bid on the incentive covers through my LCS often times sight unseen because of this. Sure would be nice if they would just show us all three covers.

Wish I knew. Also wish I knew why they can't release the previews reliably and ahead of time.

For example, their very own link to Heart & Mind 3 is not working, no preview out and the issue has been out for a week. I won't be able to read the issue for another two weeks, and I don't even have the 5-pager to sink my teeth into.

I'm satisfied with most of their Joe series, but the marketing side (TPB without proper galleries, no previews, no clue on covers) has been problematic from Day 1.

Yeah, this is one area dd did a pretty good job. Remember those flash promos a week before the release? Those were awsome! The preview should come out a week in advance hyping the issue, making it feel like an event. IDW almost seems like they're so busy trying to just get the issues out and the marketing gets a little left behind. Also I think part of it is there's sooo many books that when they come out it's not really an event anymore. I know I'm a bit overwhelmed with the quantity and I have difficulty in being motivated to try and keep up with them all. While I'm enjoying the books I'm reading, the Hama continuation is the only one I'm pumped about.

A good example is Rod Whigham coming back to do covers. Where was the IDW hype on this? His name just sort of popped up in solicits and there was mention of it in a podcast, but seriously, this should have been a big marketing push by IDW. And it's not just whigham. There is to be a run of classic Joe artists doing alt covers for the RAH line. This is big news!
