One question comes to mind.

Why does ARAH CC's helmet and uniform look like the "Krake" version??

What's going on here? Is IDW trying to synchronize all the books together?

the helmet looks more like a bat, then krakes.

I think you're right. It's the shape and form of it from the original BAT action figure. Say, if you look at his fist, it looks like he's got a cyber-suit upgrade. Are we going to see a revamped CC powersuit like he had back in the 80s? Or a suit that allows him to link up to many BATS to fight with him?

Ooooooooooh.

Blue Ninjas vs BATS. Now that is. HEAVY. METAL.

I would Love one of these as a figure but I doubt it will happen.

Anyway, I hope CC kicks some tail. If you recall, he also had a new suit at the beginning of ARAH but I liked the one from the end of the Marvel series better.

There is so much that can be done with the BATs(Origin of Overkill Hama-Style, Hotwire, etc) and I hope Hama uses this storyline to do some of that. Then again, I am sure that is just wishful thinking...

yeah I was thinking about that too. the hand looks like it might be the upgraded battle armor CC wore under his suit towards the end of the Marvel run.

Then again, it kinda looks like the CC battle armor that the collectors clud did based on the Sigma 6 lool.

There's like 500 variant action figures of C.C. right now. I'm sure someone can kit-bash one to look like this. I kind'a miss the old days when the artists would try to make them look like the current market figure at the time...

Well, you can see in his visor that CC is battling BN-001 or whatever it's name is. So I would guess Cobra came up with some 'new and improved' super suit for CC.
Or maybe the Joes made a special 'Accelerator Suit' for him
It reminds me of a special suit Spider-Man used just a few month ago.

Gotta give C.C. props. He likes to mix it up with the ninja types himself. None of that "Retreat!" stuff with Hama's version. He likes to fight one-on-one, when he can. 'Course, he'll probably get his butt kicked, as usual.

:)

Cobra Commander's suit is the "Sigma Six series suit"!(according to Issue 177) Who would ever guess that the "Sigma Six" would be mentioned in the ARAH continuity??? haha

I think "Sigma Six" is a bad word, isn't it??? :D :)

It is indeed the S6 Battlefied suit, but they took some artistic licence with it. Here's what it "should" look like:

Anyway, it feels good to get up tp date on this series, I hadn't read an issue since 170. Also a nice place to catch up, since 180 will be the start of a new ark.

I liked the fact that one out of every two pages was full art. I wonder if that was Larry's idea or Gallant's. Anyway, normally I would worry that it would cut into the story, but it worked great, I didn't feel cheated. Maybe because it was a battle issue. The full pages were superb too! Well done Mr Gallant.

*SPOILER*

Here's how I would have ended the fight, just after BN-001 goes on his rant about how humans don't understand why cyborgs are superior:

SS: Now you die so that justice for Billy can be done.
BN-001: And who the heck is Billy?
CC: He was what *you* will never understand. He was my son. [shoots]
SS: He was my pupil. He was our sword-brother. [SE & SS shoot]
Baroness: He was my lover. [shoots]

So, do I get to be an IDW writer?

(Actually, I think BN-001 did know who Billy was, but let's say that in the heat of battle he is confused).

The last panel confused me a little. Can CC really make prisoners of SS, SE, Duke, Stalker, Scarlett and Baroness? I guess there are hundreds of Vipers and BATs around, but wouldn't there still be Blue Ninjas around? Plus, I would think CC would show some honor here and let them go for helping him avenge his son.

By now you know that the answers to those questions were wrapped up within 2 pages of issue #180.

:D
